    RULES OF ENTRY Participants must be capable of swimming a one mile (1.65km) open water swim. It is the sole responsibility of all participants to familiarise themselves with the route. The route of the event is attached to the entry confirmation and also available on the day of the event at Registration. Participants must follow the route and obey Marshall's instructions at all times; Marshall's will be on land, in NSRI rescue boats and canoes as shown on the Event Marshall Map displayed and available on the day of the event at Registration. Participants must conduct themselves in a responsible way both to themselves and to fellow participants and any abuse of persons participating will result in the Marshall's removing the offender from the event. A Marshall may instruct that a swimmer be disqualified for not following the route correctly. The entry fee is not refundable. All participants must sign the Indemnity Form here under, if aged under 21 a parent or guardian is required to sign. No swimmer may enter a race without a wrist band which can only be obtained at Registration on the day of the event on proof of payment of the race fee and signature of this Entry and Indemnity Form. Winners in a race category will be awarded medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. All swimmers who complete the course will be awarded a medal for participating. Knysna Lagoon Mile Swim

This year there is a large selection of prizes to be won across all categories of the Knysna Lagoon Mile Swim!
Registration will open on Friday, 28 June at 08:00 at the Knysna Yacht Club, Yacht Club Road for the Knysna Lagoon Mile Swim (1,650m) and the Junior Swim (450m).

The Knysna Lagoon Mile Swim (1,650m) starts at 11h00 at the Knysna Yacht Club slipway. The course goes to the Knysna Quays , turns and back to the finish on the Knysna Yacht Slipway.

The Junior Swim (450m) starts at the same time and place and goes around a buoy and finishes back at the Yacht Club Causeway in the Knysna Quays.

The Junior Swim is for children 10 years old and younger and only the first 3 girls and the first 3 boys will receive medals. Parents and other age groups may also take part but will not be eligible for medals.

Each participant’s time will be recorded. There will be special medals in each race category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The winners in each male and female category will receive cash prizes.

Race categories are: Male and female 11 – 13; 14 – 17; 18 – 27; 28 – 39; 40 and over.

Entry fee for 450m swim (10 years and under) is R200.00. For all categories in the Knysna Lagoon Mile Swim, the entry fee is R300.00. Caps are compulsory for the swim – you may buy online when entering and they will be sold at registration for R80.00 each.
